This American clothing company was founded in Laguna Beach, California, by the inspiring artist Shawn Stussy in 1980. He started the business by selling t-shirts with his unique signature in the beginning as a passion. Indeed, Stussy came into market as a surf brand motivated by reggae musicians (remember the great Bob Marley?), enthusiastic skaters, charismatic DJs and popular hip hop culture. No one knew by then that this surf brand would then evolve into a streetwear brand, and became an international icon that even an uneducated kid could easily spell its name.
